Jewish life is abundant
in holidays, festivals, celebrations and days of remembrance for those who
have gone before us. On these occasions we come together as a community
to share in the joy and celebration of our Jewish heritage.

ROSH HASHANAH
The Jewish New Year, a day of
sweetness, begins a month long celebration of festivals.

YOM KIPPUR
The Day of Atonement is the most
solemn day of the Jewish year and is observed with a day of fasting,
reflection and prayers.

SUKKOT
For "Festival of Booths" we celebrate the harvest while
we share food, song and celebration under the stars in a Sukkah made by
members of the TBS family.

SIMCHAT TORAH
Rejoicing in the Torah! This holiday marks the
completion of the annual cycle of weekly Torah reading. We celebrate with
a parade around the synagogue and unrolling the entire Torah!

CHANUKAH
The Festival of Lights celebrates the victory of the
Maccabees and the rededication of the Jerusalem temple. It also
commemorates the miracle of the oil that burned for 8 days.

TU B'SHVAT
An ancient and authentic Jewish "Earth Day". We say
special blessings of fruit bearing and flowering trees, plant new trees,
and celebrate our connection to the environment and to Israel.

PURIM
We celebrate the bravery of Queen Esther during one of
the most joyous Jewish holidays. Our annual Purim Ball includes dancing,
games, costume parade, & lots of hamentashen.

PASSOVER
This holiday, remembering the escape of Jews from
slavery in Egypt, is rich with tradition and ceremony. The Passover Seder
is the cornerstone of this springtime holiday.

YOM HASHOAH
This day, also known as Holocaust Remembrance Day,
is the anniversary of the Warsaw Ghetto
uprising. On this day, we remember
those who suffered, those who fought, and those whose died.

SHAVUOT
This "Feast of the Weeks" celebrates the harvest season
in Israel, and commemorates the anniversary of the giving of the Ten
Commandments to Moses and the Israelites at Mount Sinai. |
