Secular Shmecular Gathering
Please contact email@example.com for zoom link.
Weekly social for the Secular Shmecular cohort. The goal is… none-what-so-ever. No agenda, hidden or otherwise. It’s just an opportunity to meet, socialize and schmooze. As Jews, we recognize that missing out on an opportunity to kibitz is as much a crime as ordering lox on wonder bread.
It is fully anticipated that people will drop-in on a schedule that works best for them. By scheduling weekly, whoever has the time and desire, in a given week, can simply show up. Some weeks may only have two or three people, other weeks maybe many more. The idea is to make it as low key and low pressure as possible. This does not replace the occasional special event involving a topic for discussion and/or a speaker.
If you want to make sure you are kept in the loop, either join the Secular Schmecular email group (firstname.lastname@example.org), or contact Peter Simons at email@example.com and he will add you to a distribution list.
Who is welcome –
Everyone. Secular Shmecular is inclusive not exclusive. We come together as Jews whether you consider yourself a cultural, ethnic, or practicing Jew. We each have our own set of beliefs. We rejoice in what we have in common and our shared heritage. We do not expect to be judged nor do we sit in judgment of others. Your friends are welcome too, Jewish or not.
Still have questions, contact Peter Simons as shown above or call him at 541 771-2535, and may the Schwartz be with you.
