Secular Shmecular Gathering
Please contact Peter Simons email@example.com for more information.
Weekly social for the Secular Shmecular Havurah. Presently, due to Covid, we meet via Zoom every Sunday. On alternate weeks we have a no-topic check-in. On the other weeks we choose a subject to discuss or a game to play. It’s an opportunity to meet, socialize, schmooze and build community. As Jews, we recognize that missing out on an opportunity to give one’s points of view or kibitz is as much a crime as ordering lox on Wonder Bread.
It is fully anticipated that people will drop-in on a schedule that works best for them. By scheduling weekly, whoever has the time and desire, in a given week, can simply join in. However, a “reasonable” amount of participation is strongly encouraged. We have a common-sense code of conduct which can be provided upon request.
If you want to make sure you are kept in the loop, contact Peter Simons at firstname.lastname@example.org membership..
Who is welcome –
Secular Shmecular strives to be inclusive not exclusive. However, after an initial trial period, membership of TBS is required. We come together as Jews whether you consider yourself a cultural, ethnic, or practicing Jew. We each have our own set of beliefs. Secular Shmecular is not a platform to proselytize, rather we rejoice in what we have in common and our shared heritage.
