B’nai Mitzvot
The bar/bat mitzvah ceremony centers around a child taking on the adult honor of being called to the Torah (an aliyah), to which he or she responds by saying the blessings before and after the reading of the Torah portion. It is customary for b’nai mitzvah to lead most of the Kabbalat Shabbat evening service and Shabbat morning service
